Description
We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity in the non-profit industry, located in Longmont, Colorado. The position available is for an Accounting Specialist who will be responsible for various administrative and financial tasks.
Responsibilities:
Coordination and maintenance of HR files, databases, and records
Compliance with employment law
Assisting with unemployment, worker's compensation, and insurance
Attend meetings as assigned and assist with file and project management
Maintain office machinery, including changing ink cartridges, monitoring paper supplies and arranging for equipment service
Interface and maintain relationships and communication with external vendors for support of facility, systems, and services
Assist with all bookkeeping duties as needed; including, but not limited to:
Processing incoming checks and cash donations
Making necessary journal entries
Creating Financial Statements
Reconciling accounts
Tracking maturity time for all investments
Maintaining files associated with financial responsibilities
Assist with grant oversight including, but not limited to:
Producing expense revenue statements
Managing individual grant budgets
Projecting and monitoring grant programs' revenue and expense projections
Preparing and submitting financial reports according to funding guidelines
Provide support with Year-End Financials
Requirements - Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
Knowledge and experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Ability to perform Auditing tasks
Familiarity with Billing Functions
Experience in Grant Accounting, particularly in a non-profit @context
Ability to provide Administrative Assistance when needed
Experience conducting Background Checks
Proficiency in Filing and maintaining an organized workspace
Ability to Order Office Supplies as needed
Proficiency in Quickbooks Online
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suites, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Experience in maintaining files for easy access and reference
Understanding of the importance of Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
Proficient in Account Reconciliation tasks
