You’ll be joining a mid-sized firm that are large enough to give you the progression you’re looking for, but small enough that you don’t feel like a cog in a huge machine.

Let’s start with your progression. The first stop will be Tax Director (2-3 years), but you’ll also have a clear route to Partner (5-6 years).

There’s 60 people working for the firm, across two offices. You’ll be based out of the smaller office (about 20 people), but you’re OK to work 100% remote. Obviously, if you’re local to the offices in CT or NY, you’re welcome to go in as often or as little as you like.

Your client base will be small businesses and individuals. Some of your business clients will need support with their bookkeeping / accounts clean up as well as the taxes.

You’ll be review focussed, but also take on some of the complex prep work. For a small firm, they do have some very complex clients.

You’ll likely be from a small to mid-sized firm and will either have your CPA or EA.

The tax software you’ll be using is CCH. If you’ve used this before, it will certainly help.
