Major Food Distributor located in Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is looking for a Full-Time Payroll/Benefits Administrator. The Payroll/Benefits Administrator will ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll and benefits deductions provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in data entry Payroll processing.
· Perform weekly Payroll department operations
· Manage workflow to ensure all Payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
· Oversees procedures and processes and manages inquiries and requests related to preparation and distribution of payroll.
· Work with benefits including FMLA, leaves of absences, health insurance, and follow State and Federal guidelines as it relates to applicable laws
· Provides support to employees during benefits open enrollment, FMLA, onboarding, Workers Compensation and related benefits responsibilities
· Act as a benefits liaison between employees and Human Resources
· Prepares weekly Payroll for Exempt and Non-Exempt employees while ensuring compliance with all Federal/State/Local regulations and company policies
· Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports
· Data entry of weekly/monthly commission payments, bonus payments, shift differentials and administration of child support deductions and State and Federal garnishments
· Process manual checks
· Responsible for all employee inquiries regarding Payroll & Benefits
· Execute Paylocity hand punch and attendance processing and interface
· Process terminations and compensation changes
· Process accurate and timely year-end reporting and necessary, W-2, W-2c, etc.
· Other duties as assigned
Minimum Experience and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or related field
· 2-4 years experience processing multi-state Payroll
· Strong knowledge of Federal and State regulations
· Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, outlook)
· Knowledge of proper taxation of employer paid benefits
· High degree of professionalism and confidentiality
· Excellent communication and organizational skills
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Bilingual (fluent in English & Spanish) a plus
