PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT COORDINATOR

Location: Jamaica Hospital Medical Center
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary Range: $100,000 – $120,000

Position Summary

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator to support the implementation and oversight of the hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program. Reporting to the Director of Performance Improvement, the PI Coordinator plays a key role in advancing quality initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous learning.

This individual should be capable of managing complex projects, interpreting data trends, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to drive measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

Facilitate and implement quality improvement tools, methodologies, and initiatives across departments.
Conduct and support Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA).
Participate in Quality Improvement Committees, task forces,
Abstract charts and review incident reports to identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
Support peer review, risk management, patient safety, and infection prevention efforts as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree preferred.
Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
3–5 years of experience in Quality/Performance Improvement within a healthcare setting.
Experience with quality methodologies such as RCA, FMEA, and continuous improvement models.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) certification preferred.
