Job Title: Electrical Design EngineerJob Description
Join a dynamic team of engineers working on client projects that involve modifications to existing power generation facilities and plant electrical systems for leading energy providers. This role offers the opportunity to engage in the design, preparation, and integration of major electrical power equipment, while providing support to engineering teams on a variety of client projects.
Responsibilities
Participate in the design, preparation, and integration of major electrical power equipment.
Prepare engineering calculations and electrical control circuit designs.
Perform tests and research problems through various sources of technical information.
Design or modify components and determine the intent of a specification or instruction.
Make recommendations on the acceptability of materials supplied and work completed by contractors.
Provide support to engineering teams on a variety of client projects.
Occasional travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant site locations for construction coordination and field verification of designs required.
Essential Skills
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school.
3 to 7 years of related practical work experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and CAD Software.
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without visa sponsorship.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Prior nuclear experience is highly desirable.
Problem-solving skills and ability to quickly learn new concepts.
Experience in calculations, design, and nuclear engineering.
Work Environment
The position offers a hybrid work schedule with standard work hours from Monday to Thursday, and half days on Friday throughout the year. Fully remote work is possible for top-notch engineers. The role involves working on multiple projects simultaneously, with project durations varying from 6 to 18 months. The work environment encourages growth and advancement, with room to become a supervisor in calculations and analysis or on-site responsibilities. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
