Description We are looking to bring on board an Accounting Assistant to join our team in the construction and contracting industry, located in Torrance, California. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As an Accounting Assistant, your primary responsibility will be the processing and maintenance of customer applications and records, as well as resolving customer inquiries.
Responsibilities:
Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
Maintain and update customer credit records
Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary
Organize and keep track of paperwork and compliance documents, ensuring they meet internal standards and regulatory requirements
Collaborate with various departments and external partners to collect and verify compliance-related documents
Check paperwork for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with established standards
Keep a tracking system for deadlines related to compliance paperwork and ensure tasks are completed on time
Organize and maintain physical and electronic filing systems for secure storage and easy retrieval of compliance-related documents
Communicate with stakeholders about document submission requirements, deadlines, and updates, and prepare periodic reports summarizing document status and compliance progress
Assist in identifying areas for process improvement to streamline compliance-related tasks and improve overall workflow efficiency
Handle sensitive information with confidentiality, ensuring all paperwork and compliance-related materials are kept secure
Provide general administrative assistance, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and assisting with other office tasks as needed Requirements - Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting role within the construction or contractor industry
Proficient in the use of Accounting Software Systems
Experience with ADP - Financial Services is highly desirable
Familiarity with CaseWare software
Proficient in using Concur for expense management
Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems
Strong understanding of general accounting functions
Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proven skills in conducting Auditing tasks
Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
