General Summary
Serve as a team member providing consultative and technical support and expertise for Eastern Michigan's Division of Information Technology (DoIT). Work with cross functional technical and non-technical staff to develop and maintain tools, processes and systems for troubleshooting, support, service improvement and integration of enterprise applications. Deliver exceptional internal and external customer service.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Plan, analyze, develop, and implement interfaces for enterprise applications to other internal or external systems.
Coordinate and document enterprise application integration and related change management processes across DoIT Departments, teams and groups.
Identify, develop and maintain tools, systems and processes for production troubleshooting, support and service improvement.
Install, configure, maintain and upgrade enterprise level applications.
Maintain data and application security and integrity by developing and implementing system access standards and procedures.
Serve on assigned project teams and perform all tasks assigned.
Assist with creation and maintenance of enterprise production schedules.
Write and maintain documentation on service configuration and support procedures.
Consistently meet or exceed internal and external customer expectations.
Assure effective backup, recovery and archival methodologies through planning, action and coordination with other teams.
Provide necessary support to vendors to resolve problems in a timely manner.
Perform related departmental duties, as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field plus approximately three years of relevant work experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience that enable the performance of all aspects of the position, is necessary.
Exceptional interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and to participate on cross-functional teams are required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP Systems and application integration desired; experience with Banner highly preferred.
Knowledge and applied skills and abilities in enterprise applications administration, troubleshooting and analysis are desired.
Knowledge and applied skills and abilities in SQL and scripting languages in both Windows and UNIX environments are desired.
Knowledge and applied skills and abilities in troubleshooting application systems and services in both Windows and UNIX environments are desired.
Knowledge and/or applied skills and abilities in identifying and resolving software/hardware interface problems are desired.
Specific skills in SQL, UNIX and PC product installations are desired.
