Overview
Our Nuclear Services Group is looking for an Electrical Engineer onsite at Palisades Power Plant in Covert, MI. In this role, you will coordinate with diverse disciplines, review designs, and manage projects with autonomy. Additionally, you will prepare specs, evaluate bids, and innovate solutions to technical challenges. Responsibilities
A typical day is driven by collaboration and innovation, where you shape the future of projects by coordinating with diverse teams, solving complex technical challenges, managing budgets and schedules, and guiding your team to deliver high-quality, impactful results.
Collaboration & Coordination: Understand roles played by other disciplines and coordinate with them. Participate in reviewing and checking designs, drawings, and data from others
Design & Planning: Prepare design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates. Prepare electrical equipment procurement and installation specifications
Project Management: Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality with minimal guidance. Direct and oversee technical work performed by others
Problem Solving & Innovation: Devise new approaches to technical problems
Fieldwork & Implementation: Travel for field installation, checkout, and start-up
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
Minimum of 3 years experience in Electrical Engineering design for mid level, and typically has 7 plus years of experience for senior level
Experience supporting modifications of Nuclear Power Plants preferred
Experience in electrical codes, standards and criteria for power systems
Nuclear Engineering Change qualifications from any site that can be transferred are preferred
10CFR50.59 Screen and / or Evaluation qualifications that can be transferred are preferred
Demonstrated proficiency in preparation of electrical calculations is desired
Makes recommendations based on knowledge and experience
Proficient in Microsoft Suite
Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
Must be able to perform plant walkdowns
Must be able to get badged at a nuclear facility
