National Security Solutions (NSS) Electrical Engineering Internship
KBR is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team at our office in Beavercreek, OH. The Intern will be working with the Air Force Research Lab, Sensors Directorate at Wright-Patterson AFB. The selected candidate will support multiple projects in advanced RF and power electronics for radar and avionics applications.
Job Summary
The Electrical Engineering Intern will work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment amongst professionals in semiconductor device fabrication and characterization laboratories. Under the supervision and mentorship of a senior engineer, this intern will be introduced to procedures and tools to efficiently perform device fabrication, characterization, packaging, and modeling, including photolithography, wet etching, atomic layer deposition, electron microscopy, current-voltage measurements, high-frequency, high-temperature, and high-power measurements, and finite element modeling.
Roles and Responsibilities
Learn details and functions within our cross-functional engineering team
Perform device fabrication tasks in a cleanroom environment
Characterize devices using parameter analyzers, function generators, and oscilloscopes
Develop and execute test scripts to streamline data collection and analysis
Document processes, collect data, and present results within the research group
Learn and execute device and circuit modeling techniques, including finite-element software
Other duties as assigned
Basic Qualifications
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at a four-year university, pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant field
Preferred Qualifications
Basic experience in coding for data analysis (Matlab, Python, JMP)
Able to collect, analyze, and clearly present technical data
Maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.00
Able to work 40 hours during the summer
Able to work safely in the presence of laboratory hazards, including high-voltage equipment and corrosive chemicals, by using proper PPE and laboratory technique
