CAMPUS SPECIFIC INFORMATION
The College Laboratory Technician (CLT) in the Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing will support nursing faculty and students. The CLT is expected to work as a collaborative team member and act in a professional, pleasant, and supportive manner. This position reports to the Chief College Lab Technician.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting faculty during skills lab and class sessions.
Organizing practice labs for students and providing appropriate reading materials, audiovisual materials, and equipment needed.
Maintaining records of student utilization of practice labs and communicating with faculty.
Preparing and maintaining equipment, patient simulators, and supplies for use by faculty and students in labs and class sessions.
Disassembling, inspecting, and cleaning equipment, patient simulators, and peripherals after use by faculty and students following manufacturer's recommendation guidelines.
Report all equipment and patient simulator malfunction or need for replacement immediately to the Chief CLT.
Contacting vendors for repair work of equipment and following up on parts orders.
Maintaining stockroom, taking monthly inventory, and recommending purchase of new and replacement audiovisual materials, supplies, and equipment.
Assisting in coordinating labs, classes, meetings, and other activities scheduled in the nursing lab complex.
Collaborating with faculty in identifying new and innovative simulation activities and materials to enhance the student experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma with a minimum of four years' related experience. Additional education may be used to meet the experience requirement: an Associate degree may be substituted for two years experience, and a Bachelor's degree may be substituted for four years experience.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 required, including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
Strong organizational skills preferred.
A bachelor’s degree, an associate degree, or knowledge of science or health-related field preferred.
COMPENSATION
Salary range is $47,509 - $69,517. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
