Description
The Vice President of Finance, Controller will serve as a key financial leader within a dynamic, multi-location organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the VP of Finance, Controller will oversee all accounting, internal control systems, financial reporting, and compliance functions. This individual will ensure the company's financial health and support the achievement of strategic growth objectives through exceptional fiscal leadership and operational expertise.
Primary Responsibilities:
Strategic Financial Leadership:
Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's mission, vision, and long-term goals.
Provide financial insight and forecasting to guide investment decisions, cost management, and revenue growth initiative.
Financial Operations and Controls:
Oversee all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and treasury functions across multiple locations.
Ensure the timely preparation and accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP or other applicable standards.
Design, implement, and monitor robust internal controls to minimize risk, ensure integrity in financial reporting, and safeguard company assets.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Lead the preparation of the annual budget and multi-year financial forecasts in collaboration with department leaders.
Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations for improvement based on performance metrics.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay informed about healthcare regulations, assisted living standards, and shifting compliance requirements.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing assisted living operations and financial practices.
Team Leadership:
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing finance and accounting team. Promote a collaborative, supportive, and professional work environment.
Develop training and retention programs to drive professional growth and succession planning within the team.
Systems Optimization:
Evaluate and improve financial systems and tools to drive efficiency in managing the nuances of a multi-location, assisted living business.
Work with IT teams to integrate financial systems with operational platforms where applicable.

Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (MBA or CPA highly required).
Experience: 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior financial management role. Experience overseeing multi-location or distributed operations is highly desirable.
Technical Skills: Deep knowledge of GAAP, financial systems, ERP platforms, and proficiency in financial modeling.
Leadership Skills: Proven ability to inspire and manage finance teams. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with C-level executives, operational leaders, and external stakeholders.
Analytical Abilities: Strong aptitude for strategic and operational financial planning, with the ability to connect financial performance to operational business outcomes.
