Position Summary:
The Patient Safety Data Manager performs statistical and data analytic reporting in a confidential environment. Manages and supervises utilization of the patient safety database operations including but not limited to data classification and clinical narrative preparation. Carriers out delegated data management functions as needed on behalf of the Patient Safety Team. Supports the Meditract Contract System. Manages The Guthrie Clinic Compliance 360 policy system.
Education, License & Cert:
High School Graduate or Equivalent required. Computer training preferred.
Experience:
Proficient in PC usage, Windows based programming with a demonstrated proficiency of database functions and operations. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Strict attention to detail, demonstrated organizational skills. Broad knowledge of healthcare organizations and patient safety events.
Essential Functions:
Manages the Patient Safety Event Reporting System data base for all Guthrie Clinic entities.
Manages The Guthrie Clinic Safe Line.
Manages the Guthrie Clinic Contract System data base for all Guthrie Clinic entities.
Manages the Guthrie Clinic Policy System data base for all Guthrie Clinic entities.
Instructs staff and providers at all Guthrie entities on the use of the Patient Safety Event Reporting System, Contract System data base and Policy System data base through formal and informal educational sessions.
Generates reports from the Patient Safety Event Reporting System.
Instructs staff and providers at all Guthrie entities on the use of the Patient Safety Event Reporting System through formal and informal educational sessions.
Provides follow-up and support staff, managers and providers on event reports as requested by the Patient Safety Officer.
Other Duties:
Other duties as assigned.
Provides back up to the department administrative assistant for reviewing phone and online messages for patient safety/patient advocacy to address.
Supports data management of other patient safety and risk management departments as requested.
