As a Research Scientist in the Magnetic Resonance team at GE HealthCare's Technology and Innovation Center (R&D), you will develop new MRI systems platforms, imaging techniques and/ or algorithms for diagnostic, functional and interventional imaging. You will perform research in an interdisciplinary team to push the envelope of what MRI can do in the clinic and beyond.

Roles and Responsibilities
As a Magnetic Resonance Research Scientist, you will:
Apply knowledge and experience in MR physics, mathematics, engineering and chemistry to conceptualize and proto@type novel MR systems and software solutions that address key clinical needs.
Develop next-generation MRI sub-systems with enhanced capabilities, and associated applications that leverage them. Examples are in high-performance gradient coils, RF coils, receiver sub-systems, gradient drivers, etc.
Determine the impact of systems hardware performance on image quality and safety.
Develop algorithmic and/ or systems hardware solutions for MR-guided therapy and interventional applications.
Grow external collaborations with academic and industry partners through joint publications, grant submissions and technology development.
Work with clinicians to refine emerging technologies for clinical applications.
Create intellectual property by generating invention disclosures and filing patents.
Maintain external visibility through conference presentations and peer-reviewed journal publications.
Required Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in Physics, Medical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, or other related fields, with at least 4 years of research experience.
A demonstrated record of research and development as evidenced by peer-reviewed conference proceedings and journal publications.
Strong fundamentals in MR imaging physics, electromagnetic theory, and MR hardware sub-systems.
Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to understand and address root causes of MR image quality issues in investigational proto@types.
Proficiency in programming in C, Python and/ or simulation tools.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. You will need to have valid, on-going authorization to work in the U.S.
Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.
Must be 18 years or older.

Experience in pulse sequence programming on a GE HealthCare MRI scanner and/ or developing new image reconstruction algorithms.
For U.S. based positions only, the pay range for this position is $97,600.00-$146,400.00 Annual. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
