Job Duties Include:\
Under the direction of the Director, performs administrative support
functions for the Expo Center to include, but not limited to, reception,
customer service, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales and
record keeping. Performs duties related to the Noxious Weed Department
in the absence of the Noxious Weed Administrative Aide. Assists the
Director, Weed Supervisor and Maintenance Supervisor in all duties
necessary. Performs in office and telephone reception and
clerical/administrative tasks for the Expo Center. Will perform
reception and clerical/administrative tasks for the Noxious Weed
Department as needed. Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable
for Expo and County Farm expenses and revenues by entering invoices in
the Countys finance software and recording all cash receipts/deposits
with the County Treasurers Office. Creates invoices as needed. Prepares
related reports for the Director. Assists with year-end budget summaries
for Expo and Farm. Coordinates with Noxious Weed Administrative Aide for
split funding or expenses. Serves as the primary contact for the rental
of the Livestock and Expo Center facilities. Completes contracts for
rentals and receives all necessary documents from renters such as
contract, insurance, security, and payment. Works with the events
calendar and updating event contracts as needed. Prepares and maintains
all records and reports as required by the Director for the Expo and
Farm departments to include Federal farm programs and regulations.
Serves as secretary to Farm Advisory Committee for the Oliver Hagg
conservation and education program. Maintains various announcements,
documents, and information on the Departments webpage. May pick up and
deliver mail to the City/County Building as needed. Serves as a backup
to the Noxious Weed Administrative Aide in all their duties in their
absence. Will train other department staff to perform critical tasks
when needed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent.
Must have a valid Driver License and be insurable under Saline
Countys Fleet Insurance policy.
Must have strong communication skills and be able to work with the
public in a congenial manner.
Must be proficient in the use of a computer and specifically with
Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Must have knowledge of general office practices and bookkeeping
procedures.
Will be required to complete the basic training course on Weed
Chemicals offered by Kansas State University within one (1) year.
Required to be category 9A certified by the State Department of
Agriculture, Weed Division, within the first six (6) months of
employment.

force occasionally, and/or up to 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently,
and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly.
Ability to communicate ideas by means of spoken word. Must be able to
five directions/assignments and interact with the public. Job
performance and or safety of self and others demands being able to
clearly see 20 feet or more.
