Responsibilities
The Magnetic Resonance (MR) Technologist enforces safety procedures in the high strength MR environment. The MR technologist performs quality diagnostic procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision and performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment. Sophisticated computerized MR equipment is utilized to produce scans consistent with a safe and professional environment for patients of all ages. The incumbent performs patient care duties associated with MR procedures when necessary and ensures effective communication and documentation. Additionally, the incumbent uses independent judgment to operate and be accountable for sophisticated equipment. The incumbent produces optimum quality scans within the
standard department regulations and in a manner consistent with a safe, professional environment for all. The incumbent will be responsible for training additional MRI staff members for the purpose of cross training within the department. The incumbent may be required to perform additional radiographic procedures, credentials allowing at the discretion of the radiology director.
Qualifications
Experience:
Experience with a variety of imaging equipment: PACS, CR, PC's with Windows.
Experience with General Electric equipment favorable. perferred
Education:
Graduation from a Joint Commission- approved School of MRI Technology or; Current national registration with the ARRT or ARMRIT; advanced registration in MR by an approved accrediting body or training; minimum of three years related experience and/or training is required with equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional certification in an alternate modality preferable. Maintain State Certification if applicable.
Licensure:
Current national registration with the ARRT or ARMRIT Current CPR certification.
Special Skills:
Complete understanding of MRI methodology and equipment is required.
Broad-based knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and physiology is required.
Knowledge of MR physics is preferable.
Pay Range
$47.83 - $55.44 /hour
