Job Summary
Candidate will be responsible for corporate-wide air emissions monitoring, accounting, data management, analyses, forecasting, disclosure reporting, regulatory monitoring, and compliance support. Self-motivation and high proficiency in mathematical skills, data management and associated software is a must.
The individual exhibits expert or advanced level proficiency that enables them to serve as leader within the assigned organization as a subject matter expert. Works in a team environment to provide support primarily for power generating stations but may also include other company facilities or regulated and commercial business operations (e.g., electric transmission and distribution, service centers, office buildings, etc.). Air permit compliance experience and environmental disclosure reporting (e.g., GHG, EEI, e-GGRT, TCFD, SASB, CDP, GRI, etc.) experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Interprets regulations, policy, codes, and/or standards and provides guidance and recommendations in the @context of complex compliance situations.
Identifies, resolves, and initiates solutions to the most complex problems that are unique to the company and industry and requires extensive specialized knowledge, or the development of knowledge and techniques.
Leads, facilitates and coordinates work activities of others within work group, team, department, or those external to the company and assumes the role of project or function manager for assigned compliance tasks.
Serves as an internal expert resource in a specialized environmental technical or regulatory program area and is highly recognized and regarded by those external to the company.
Develops, recommends, and implements plans to address the most complex compliance problems that require the input and efforts of a wide array of entities both internal and external to the company.
Proficient in written and verbal communication and leads in the preparation and presentation of the most complex technical subjects, clearly, concisely, and persuasively, bringing in ancillary issues before senior management, professional organizations, regulatory bodies, etc.
Identifies and initiates pro-active changes to policy, regulations, and standards, in the interests of the company, and engages multiple stakeholders in the process, networking throughout AEP, other companies, professional organizations, and regulatory agencies.
Serves in a leadership position within professional and business environmental regulatory and research organizations.
Responsive to and supportive of stakeholders which may include the need for information on a time-sensitive or expedited schedule.
Work location is officing in Columbus OH, New Albany OH, Roanoke VA, Tulsa OK, or Shreveport LA
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education requirements: Bachelor's degree (environmental science, biology, chemistry, natural resources, or ecology or related field)
Work Experience requirements: Minimum of 18 years of environmental experience.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS :
Physical demand level is Sedentary.
Individuals with a Master's or Doctorate degree may be considered for entry into the organization at this level.
Registration in recognized associations and organizations for environmental professionals is encouraged.
40 hours per week with some overtime required.
Travel up to 10% required.
INITIAL POSITION / BASE SALARY FUNDING: approximately ($97,000 - $146,000/year) spanning this salary grade/title range.
