The Town of Constable is hiring for a Part Time Code Enforcement Officer
The work involves responsibility for ensuring compliance with appropriate laws, codes, rules and regulations. They prepare rules and regulations pertaining to the construction or alterations of buildings and structures. Prepare applications, building permits and certificates of occupancy for the approval of the local governing body. Inspects buildings and structures for compliance with the fire prevention provisions of the state uniform fire prevention and building code.
Requirements:
GED or High school diploma and/either:
A)Associates degree in civil engineering, construction technology, architecture or related field and one year as a building inspector or skilled building construction trades worker, or:
B)Completion of 60 semester hours leading to a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, Architecture, or related field and one year as a building inspector or skilled building construction trades worker, or:
C)Three years of satisfactory experience as a building inspector or skilled building construction trades worker, such as: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or related trade, or;
D)An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by A, B, C above, or:
E)Possession of a Valid or up to date NYS Code Enforcement Officer Certification /License and Registry number (Certification can take place after employment)
Pay is $500/month, may be able to work as Code enforcement officer for the Town of Fort Covington as well for additional compensation through them. Job entail typically 10-20 hours a month.
