Position: Administrative Assistant
Job Summary: This is a part-time, 25-hour per week position that provides administrative support services including assisting with the Farmers Market, promotional activities, events, operations, special projects, and parking management for the Downtown Development Authority (DDA). There is potential for weekly hours to increase with organizational needs.
Supervision: Primary direction and supervision is received from the DDA Executive Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Farmers Market Manager with operations and promotions. Work as cashier at the Wednesday market and Saturday market as needed.
Assist with the coordination, promotion, and staffing of special events
Manage the rental of the Marquette Commons facility
Create and disseminate the monthly email newsletter
Maintain and update the Downtown Marquette website
Provide front line for managing phone calls and greeting guests
Provide customer assistance/information about downtown in an effective and courteous manner
Assist with the creation and distribution of mailings, brochures, maps, and correspondences
Assist with the maintenance of various information data bases including available downtown properties, property owners, and downtown businesses when requested
Understand the Downtown Parking System and provide customer assistance
Provide filing, recordkeeping, and other services
Operate and maintain basic office equipment including personal computers using MS Office programs; use the internet, email, and data base management software
Office cleaning
Performs other related functions as assigned

Required education and training includes a high school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by courses in business or communications; two years' office administration and/or secretarial experience also preferred
Experience with promotion, marketing and/or communication preferred
Understanding of a downtown environment preferred
Knowledge of modern office procedures/practices, filing, record keeping systems and common clerical procedures
Knowledge and understanding of computer operations, particularly desktop publishing. Experience using Canva, Squarespace, Constant Contact, Adobe, word processing, spreadsheet software and databases.
Knowledge of and proficient with the responsible use of the Internet, email, and social media
Skill in operating standard office equipment
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Proficiency in spelling, grammar, and composition
Human relations skills in interacting with and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, business owners and the public

Physical Demands:**
Work is performed in an office setting and outdoors at the Farmers Market
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions. The employee may be exposed to cold, wet and/or h
