JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for maintaining an accurate inventory of parts, and scheduling preventative maintenance on all equipment using RTA software, as well as ordering supplies, parts, and materials as needed to maintain adequate levels of supplies to perform the PMs. (Formally titled - Inventory Clerk/RTA Administrator/Administrative Assistant)
WORK SCHEDULE:
Forty (40) hour work week, with varying hours including one (1) hour lunch period.
Must be available to work anytime BMT service is provided.
Must be able to work overtime when required and/or directed.
Must be able to work some Saturdays, be on-call and fill-in, as needed.
Must be available during disaster and emergency events.
REPORTS TO: HR and Finance Manager
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for data entry of work orders, parts, and materials in the RTA software (Preventive Maintenance and Inventory), road call tracking, fuel log, PM and detail tracking.
Responsible for data entry of all operations reports into the organization's data network.
Utilize equipment manuals for all parts ordering
Responsible for creating and receiving purchase orders for preventative maintenance parts, and shop supplies as needed
Responsible for receiving, checking, and tagging parts in
Responsible for keeping parts room organized and clean
Responsible for tracking parts return and warranty claims
Responsible for issuing parts and materials
Responsible for scheduling vendor repairs and oversees outsourced maintenance of equipment
Responsible for compiling estimates for repairs and providing them to the required parties
Responsible for oversight of shop printed materials, bus postings, and posting safety messages
Responsible for producing monthly technical reports
Maintains and conduct random and annual inventory counts/records as scheduled by HR and Finance Manager
Maintains uniform inventory inclusive of new orders, issuance, and returns.
Maintain Materials Safety Data Sheet inventory and program compliance
Ensure compliance with OSHA and organizational safety guidelines
Work with Maintenance manager to produce preventative maintenance schedules for all equipment and vehicles
Process and count daily fares and completes related reports
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or GED
Valid Texas Driver's License
Experience in transportation parts and materials handling
Pre-employment background check and drug screen required
Must demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
Proficient in Word and Excel software
Ability to @type at least 35 WPM
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in the English language
Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate assigned tasks
Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships with co-workers and supervisors
Able to learn and operate the RTA software
Ability to compute simple math calculations
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work is performed inside the shop, fuel area, yard, office area, transfer station, on or about bus stop or responding to road calls. On occasions may be subject to elements such as fumes, gases, dust, grease, smoke, oil, noises, and extremes in temperature / humidity.
The employee is regularly required to sit, walk, listen, and to lift 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Physical ability requires to be mobile, bend, stop, stand, climb ladders, and or stairs, reach to adjust equipment or materials, simultaneous use of both arms and both feet, Requires simple grasping and fine manipulation as well as hard grasping and medium dexterity. This position requires occasional out of town travel for training or career development purposes.
