Nurse Instructor (in-service) - Bilingual Spanish/English- Per Diem
Salary: $37.00 to $41.00 per hour (Exempt OT Eligible)
SUMMARY:
Responsible for ensuring that Sunnyside maintains a well-trained and knowledgeable home care workforce,
using training techniques which meet the learning needs of the workplace in compliance with all Department of
Health regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaches paraprofessional in-service topics.
- Performs paraprofessional skills competency evaluations.
- Ensures home care workers skills meet satisfactory levels of performance.
- Ensures supervisor is informed about issues and progress.
- Maintains statistical data on the performance of the training program/skills assessment.
- Interact with managers to provide feedback on issues which emerge during the course of the Inservice classes.
- Performs additional duties, as assigned.
SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge of New York State Department of Health regulations for Licensed Home Care Service Agencies
- Demonstrates knowledge and expertise with computer software applications and word processing programs.
- Demonstrates an ability to effectively manage stress, and balance multiple conflicting priorities.
WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:
Office settings may include occasional home visits or out of office meetings. Evening and weekend work required to meet deadlines and/or attend occasional meetings or seminars.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Registered Professional Nurse with a current license and registration to practice in New York State.
· Two years home care experience.
· Ability to communicate effectively and write reports and correspondence.
· Must work well with people.
· Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to comprehend communications and assess students and staff needs.
· Bilingual Spanish a must.
