Position Summary:
The Maintenance Mechanic II-HVAC will install, maintain, adjust, modify and repair refrigeration and air conditioning systems by interpreting blueprints, manufacturer specifications, as well as written and verbal instructions.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Qualified in
One of Three ways required:
o
High School graduate and seven (7) years specific electrical experience or;
o
Trade or Technical School Certificate and four (4) years specific electrical experience or;
o
Associate degree or bachelors degree in technical field and four (4) years experience.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Valid Drivers License in good standing required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Makes initial settings and final adjustments of refrigeration and air conditioning systems and modifying existing installations to obtain required results.
Installation, troubleshooting, repair and/or calibrations to centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, direct expansion systems, electric blast coils, immersion coils pumps, fans, starters, pneumatic and electric controls.
Maintains electrostatic filters, domestic refrigerators, laboratory ultra-low temperature boxes, walk-in coolers and freezers, fountain equipment and ice makers.
Follows a predetermined schedule of preventive maintenance on equipment.
Makes recommendations regarding major overhaul of systems.
Provides technical guidance and direction to team members.

Completes other duties as assigned by department leadership.
