We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to lead digital I&C upgrades for various customers in the Americas Instrumentation & Controls Systems (ICS) organization. The Project Manager will step into a role responsible for executing any in-flight projects, leading the development of technical and commercial inputs for proposals, and ultimately leading the delivery of I&C upgrades. This critically important role requires strong oversight of financial, technical, contractual, and resource commitments with ultimate accountability to deliver projects in a safe, high-quality, profitable manner, leading to stakeholder satisfaction.
Your Day to Day:
Ensure safety and quality are the primary focus on all project activities
Prioritize event-free and error-free execution
Manage and integrate all aspects of project including scope, schedule, cost, risk, procurement, quality, resources, communications, and stakeholders
Ensure compliance with all contractual commitments, meet customer needs, and optimize both short- and long-term profitability for Westinghouse
Complete all aspects of established project planning processes per the Westinghouse Project Management Requirements (WPMR) and I&C Systems Project Management Requirements (ICPMR)
Coordinate rigorous and disciplined project communications ensuring team, customer, and all stakeholders are kept informed
Identify, assess, and implement improvement or recovery opportunities as necessary that will promote successful project delivery
Measure project success through established KPIs; including customer feedback, on-time performance, and financial health
Provide accurate forecasts for financial performance, backlog resource demand, and hardware/manufacturing demand. Utilize levers available, such as EAC management, risk mitigation, acceleration, and cost reduction initiatives, to maximize both short- and long-term profitability.
Collaborate with Contract Managers to interpret and transmit requirements, and proactively manage subsequent changes, following an integrated change management process. Identify opportunities for additional business growth.
Interface with GOS engineering, resource, and supply chain management teams to deliver project commitments and resolve gaps in support.
Develop or oversee development of project records in standard databases, systems, and procedures to ensure efficient handling and transmission of project correspondence and documentation internally and externally.
Properly close projects by archiving work in financial, scheduling, document management, and resource management systems/tools. Perform final project quality assessment and report out. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement, lessons, and risk avoidance for future work.
Support Americas ICS tendering and sales organizations to formulate execution strategies, schedules, and cost-estimates, including risk registers, for new projects. Support and/or drive customer negotiations.
Use and support Westinghouse project management systems and controls for various projects assuring senior management is provided up-to-date and accurate reports of each project status.
Maintain good working relationships with various stakeholders including project team, external customers, vendors, internal partners, and Westinghouse leadership.
Who You Are:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred
Business or Project Management degrees will be considered
Five to ten years of progressive experience leading I&C (or other engineering, procurement, and construction) projects
Nuclear industry experience preferred
Technical leadership experience may be considered in lieu of direct project management experience
Familiar with the Project Management Institute (PMI)'s Project Management Body of Knowledge required
PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or the willingness to achieve certification is desired
Increasing levels of demonstrated skills and track-record of success with cost, risk, and schedule control
Demonstrated accountability for results while working independently
Ability to think outside the box to solve problems, navigate uncertainty, and drive resolution of issues
Effective presentation skills, strong communication skills, organization, attention to detail, and high emotional intelligence
Experience with SAP, Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Office tools, and Active Risk Manager is desired
Some travel (estimate to be up to 10%) may be required for this position to customer sites, vendor facilities, or various Westinghouse facilities outside the home office
Willingness to work in a hybrid (in office a minimum 2-days per week on average) or on-site in Warrendale, PA
