A Journeyman Electrician is responsible for the electrical safety of the
facility/site in which he/she works in. He/she is responsible for
reporting, troubleshooting, and preventing electrical problems daily.
He/she is responsible for efficiently and effectively installing
electrical equipment and material to complete assigned tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct or attend daily safety briefings
Maintain safety working conditions at all times.
Maintain condition, functionality and use of proper PPE (Personal
Protective Equipment) at all times.
Identify different electrical classifications and conform to the
varying requirements.
Cut, thread and bend conduit of all @types and sizes to
specifications.
Troubleshoot electrical circuits of all kinds and determine what
measures needs to be taken to fix or prevent electrical problems.
Install and/or replace electrical circuits indoors and outdoors of
the facility.
Plan, layout and install electrical wiring, equipment and/or
fixtures based on the job specifications and local codes.
Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of
wiring or equipment and to ensure conformance to building and safety
codes.
Advise management if the continued use of equipment could be
hazardous.
Provide preliminary cost estimates for materials and services.
Additional duties may be assigned by Director of Electrical
Services.
