Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for a Transportation and Logistics Manager, Electrical. You will be responsible for planning coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes across all Plastic Pipe and Conduit manufacturing facilities and regional distribution centers. They will also be accountable for shipping processes and support simplification and standardization of processes to accelerate Logistics and enhance efficiencies.
What you'll do:
Responsible for planning coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes across all Plastic Pipe and Conduit manufacturing facilities and regional distribution centers
Accountable for shipping processes and support simplification and standardization of processes to accelerate Logistics and enhance efficiencies
Responsible for planning coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory, transportation, and supply chain processes across all Plastic Pipe and Conduit manufacturing facilities and regional distribution centers
Accountable for valuating the efficiency of Logistics and Shipping procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements; identifying enhancement opportunities and suggest solutions for improvement to top management; translating business requirements into effective technical systems solutions by presenting options based on best practices
Responsible for initiating Logistics productivity and cost out projects
Accountable for producing user documentation for applications standard work and training
Responsible for constructing and monitoring transportation reporting metrics through Tableau
Accountable for conducting cost analyses of transportation companies to select the best option; that is cost-efficient and able to handle the shipment load
Responsible for driving cost reduction through supply chain route optimization, mode conversion, and other means
Accountable for maintaining communications with carriers, suppliers, warehouses, custom brokers and others involved in the shipping and delivery of our product offerings
Responsible for developing and initiating monthly reports having required project timelines, corporate metrics and productivity measurements, and maintaining KPI metrics and analyzing data to assess performance and implement improvements within Logistics and Shipping Departments across all nine of the facilities
This position requires only little domestic travel
Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location
What you'll bring:
Requires a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Logistics Manager, Supply Chain Specialist and/or Analyst, or related
Must possess 5 years of experience with: designing, developing, and monitoring reporting to maintain KPIs and in order to support logistics changes and improvements across supply chain
Implementing new or improved supply chain processes to improve efficiency or performance
Managing day-to-day logistics operations
Managing and implementing reverse logistics operations
Developing procedures for coordination of supply chain management with teams such as cross-functional teams, retailers, third-party logistics providers, and internal and external vendors to reduce asset loss and increase supply chain transparency
Driving cost reduction through supply chain route optimization, mode conversion, and other means
Proficiency with supply chain processes from start to finish, including planning, scheduling, inventory control, logistics, transportation, and process improvement; expertise with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL, and with the following ERP systems: Oracle JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics AX/365, LAMPS, MAS (Sage 500)

Within 3 months, you'll:
Complete your Atkore immersion program
Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
Gain an understanding of your role, the Sourcing organization, and the organization you support
Gain an understanding of the training materials and processes your role requires
Within 6 months, you'll:
Evaluate the efficiency of Electrical Logistics and Shipping procedures according to organizational objectives
Train on TMS/Power BI Freight reporting
Train on CTSI Freight invoice auditing
Train on TMS Rating/Routing input
Within 12 months, you'll:
Initiate Logistics productivity and cost out projects
Produce user documentation for applications standard work and training
Track Electrical location tendering and carrier performance to bid awards
Run Yearly Truckload bid for PPC locations as well as RDC locations
Become TMS Superuser
Run Monthly/Yearly Freight Metrics for Executive reporting

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $94,000 - $129,250. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
