Job Description
The Electrical and Instrument (E&I) Technician, is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems within the plant. This role is ideal for an experienced electrician who wants to expand their skills into instrumentation and controls while working in a dynamic industrial environment.
Job Duties
Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on 480V electrical systems, motors, panels, circuit breakers, and transformers.
Inspect, test, and repair motor control centers (MCCs), fuses, protective relays, and high-voltage equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Work with HVAC and high-voltage systems, identifying and mitigating hazards associated with electrical panels and power distribution systems.
Troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, generators, and industrial power distribution systems.
Assist in preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on plant instrumentation and control systems, including PLCs (training provided if necessary).
Recognize and address hazards associated with electrical components and systems, ensuring safe work practices and compliance with industry regulations.
Support plant operations by diagnosing electrical issues and ensuring equipment is running efficiently.
Perform inspections and testing of fuses, motors, 480V and lower circuits, and other key electrical components.
Job Requirements:
Minimum five (5) years of experience as an industrial electrician, with a focus on high-voltage electrical systems (480V and above).
Strong knowledge of motor controls, HVAC electrical systems, fuses, and high-voltage panels.
Understanding of electrical preservation, safety procedures, and hazard identification when working with electrical panels and power systems.
High school diploma or equivalent required; formal technical training or electrical license is preferred.
Willingness to learn instrumentation and controls (PLC troubleshooting, automation systems, combustion control systems, etc.).
Ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders/stairs, and work in an industrial setting
