CFU is currently recruiting for a full-time Electric Planning Supervisor to help lead our Electric Distribution team. This position facilitates and provides direction to the electric planning team.

The Electric Planning Supervisor works under general supervision of the Construction Services Manager.

Compensation & Benefits
Full-time, FLSA Exempt position.
Starting wage is based upon individual qualifications. $107,390 - $141,140.

Responsibilities
Supervises and plans the operation and maintenance of electric planning. Conducts performance reviews; coach, counsel and monitors the work performance of employees to achieve productivity and maximum customer satisfaction; Ensures employees have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs.
Plans work orders for complex distribution and transmission projects for multiple utilities; follows up and ensures work orders are completed; assists with emergency situations; prepares service orders.
Responds to customers, developers, and contractors questions on a daily basis regarding electric and communications facilities and outages, performs various responsibilities such as load surveys, voltage checks, electrical equipment inspections, distribution records and customer inquiries.
Responds to emergency calls for service at any time and works outside of normal business hours as needed.
Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that promotes positive relations with customers, co-workers and management.
Recognizes team needs by encouraging involvement and reviewing results; Establishes work procedures and processes that supports company and departmental standards, procedures, and strategic directives.
Qualifications
Education:
Vocational school or college course work with background in engineering construction, utility management, or the equivalent.
Experience:
Six (6) years utility distribution systems, planning and supervisory experience.
Residency:
This position requires an employee to reside within 20 miles of the Main Office Building at 1 Utility Parkway, Cedar Falls.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of:City, federal and state codes, laws, rules and regulations governing the distribution of utility services; design and construction of utility services; specifications and practices of overhead and underground distribution, construction and maintenance; engineering standards; AutoCAD and computer software applications.
Ability to:Comprehend codes and regulations; utilize computer databases and software in the performance of a wide variety of distribution services; demonstrate leadership skills; carry out work assignments as instructed; maintain accurate records; make field changes during construction; communicate effectively orally and in writing in the preparation reports and presentations; establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Physical Tasks and Environmental Conditions:
Work involves sedentary to light work in an office setting and light work in construction setting. There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, sit, lift light objects (up to 20 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday. There is also a risk of potential physical from electric hazards, natural gas, dangerous machinery, inclement weather conditions, hazardous chemicals and other extraordinary working conditions.
