The State Highway Administration's (SHA) District 3 is currently recruiting for an Assistant District Administrative Manager (Administrator I) in Prince George's and Montgomery Counties. This position is open to STATE EMPLOYEES ONLY who meet the minimum and selective qualifications listed below. This is a position specific recruitment. The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy or function only. You will need to reapply for any future recruitments conducted for this job classification.
Nature of Work: The main purpose of this position is to assist and overseeing of the human resources operation for a two-county district (225+ employees) and provide administrative support to the District Administrative Manager. This position oversees clerical staff and deals with interpretation, application and implementation of personnel policies and procedures requiring independent judgement and discretion. This position manages the daily workload and makes necessary adjustments and delegates assignments to the human resources support staff.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four (4) years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Selective Qualification: Two (2) years of the required experience must be involved in human resources in the areas of: recruitment, benefits, employer-employee relations and/or classification.

Selective qualifications are utilized when the position requires specific or additional bona fide occupational qualifications (i.e., knowledge, skill or ability).
Notes:
Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
Candidates may substitute the possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Candidates may substitute the possession of a master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher-ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
