Galison Publishing is seeking a full-time Junior Staff Accountant with a minimum of 2 years of experience with accounts payable and basic bookkeeping practices, particularly in consumer goods or other cost accounting-based industries. We are seeking someone with mastery in accounts payable looking to grow and widen their knowledge and skillset. This is a full-time position located in our Manhattan office and will report to our department head.
The Junior Staff Accountant will process all inventory-related invoices, all operating expense activity as well as cash disbursement cycles, and set up bank wires/ACH payments for approval. They will reconcile bank accounts, resolve vendor inquiries and discrepancies, obtain and maintain proper tax identification/bank information and maintain accurate prepaid expense schedules. The position will also include managing fixed assets, maintaining schedules and reconciling sub-ledgers and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Candidates will need experience with inventory, fixed assets, and prepaid expenses. They should be detail-oriented and highly organized with an ability to meet regular recurring deadlines. Advanced knowledge of Excel including XLOOKUP and PivotTables is required and familiarity with Dynamics NAV/365 is desirable. Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical and judgment abilities, interest in systems improvement and the capability to communicate needs round out the requirements for this role.
Employees at Galison Publishing follow a flexible hybrid schedule of working a minimum of 3 days per week and up to 4 days per week in our New York City office, depending on project and business needs. Hiring Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000. This range represents the anticipated low and high end of the expected salary for this position and will be determined by factors including but not limited to the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and geographic location as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible for our profit share plan.
