In this position you will be reporting directly to the CEO and taking over the leadership of our accounting and finance team. Payment processing is a big part of the value we provide and have transacted more than $100M in just the last 2 years alone. You’ll be managing a current team of 4 financial analysts and overseeing PowerMarket’s day-to-day accounting and finance operations. This is a high-value position with substantial upside. We work out of a fantastic co-working space located in midtown Manhattan and support remote, hybrid, and in office work environments with many employees choosing to go into the office two or three days each week. For this role we're looking for people local to NYC only.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with our CEO to manage all aspects of our accounting and finance department.
- Lead a talented team of 4 financial analysts.
- Oversee all accounting processes, including but not limited to: AR, AP, monthly client invoicing, bank reconciliations, tax optimization, investments, corporate accounting and financial reporting.
- Work closely with our Operations team to ensure accurate billing of customers across our portfolio of projects.
- Establish policies and controls that will improve our corporate accounting compliance posture.
- Lead special projects that will further the goals of the accounting and finance department.
- Collaborate with company leaders to provide them with the financial reporting and data they need to improve their teams and make effective decisions.
Qualifications
- Quickbooks! A demonstrable QBO guru.
- Bachelors degree in accounting or finance required, CPA preferred.
- 5 - 7 years of experience in the areas of finance, accounting, auditing and tax including 3+ years as a manager.
- We transact high dollar volumes and require the highest standards of integrity, accuracy and precision.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, with proficiency in pivot tables and charts.
- Experience with lockboxes and payment gateways like Authorize.net and Stripe.
- Interest and knowledge in the clean energy industry a plus.
