Staff Accountant
(Confidential) Real Estate and Property Management Firm - New York, NY
Busy Property Management Company (West Village) is looking for a Staff Accountant to assist our Accounting/Finance department. The ideal candidate must be organized and highly detail-oriented. Your main focus will be on Accounting; however, you will be required to assist with other administrative duties throughout the office/in various departments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and intercompany account reconciliations for a large portfolio of accounts
- Perform monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts, escrow accounts, and other balance sheet accounts for accuracy
- Prepare and posting journal entries
- Understand general accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger posting
- Prepare, analyze, and submit cash management data for distribution and funding
- Collaborate with other departments to complete accurate records and provide Accounting support
- Process, record, and reconcile security deposit requests
- Ensure subsidiary ledgers match the trial balance
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements
- Assist with other Ad-hoc reporting
Requirements for Applicants:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Yardi Voyager experience preferred or similar real estate accounting software
Must possess strong work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision as well as a team player
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Solid organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task
Special projects as needed
Honest, dependable, punctual, and hardworking
Up to 4 years of Real Estate accounting experience
