Who you are:
The Accounting Manager will report to the Senior Director, Corporate Controller and work closely with the Accounting team members. The Accounting Manager will support in the preparation of financial statements, reconcile the balance sheets and cash accounts, participate in the audit process, and analyze trends to influence positive financial results across multiple business units including our various full-service restaurants and Daily Provisions. The Accounting Manager will make sure all deadlines are achieved, and all work products are of the highest standard. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in accounting, an analytical mindset and a sense of urgency while being able to build relationships with key team members across the company.
What you'll do:
- Cultivate a culture of Enlightened Hospitality for all stakeholders that supports our business objectives and growth
- Support monthly financial close process
- Prepare and review various monthly activities including journal entries related to occupancy expenses and fixed assets
- Ensure fixed asset additions are recorded properly, validating depreciation start dates and useful lives
- Perform and review reconciliations for various balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to: prepaids, accrued expenses and fixed assets
- Review bank account reconciliations
- Support the annual financial statement audit process and serve as a key point of contact for external audit partners
- Support ad hoc projects or analyses as needed
What we need from you:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in Accounting, Finance or related experience, preferably in the restaurant, hospitality or retail industry
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA is preferred but not required)
- Maintain a strong sense of urgency while ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Ability to exercise discretion with confidential information
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- NetSuite knowledge a plus but not required
