We are a distribution company, located in the Bronx, looking for an experienced Collector to join our team. The potential candidate must have at least 5 years’ experience in collections with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Credit and Collections Associate
- Place collection calls to customers with outstanding balances beyond payment terms.
- Record payment pick-up notes for drivers.
- Research and respond to customer payment inquiries.
- Upon request supply customers with duplicate invoice copies and proof –of –delivery.
- Review credit extension report for accounts assigned by Credit Manager.
- Review AR aging for accounts assigned by Credit Manager.
- Assist Cash Application Associate in resolving short pays and unapplied payments for assigned accounts.
- Disposition accounts with past due balances by date changing customer orders placing accounts on credit hold or contacting Sales Associates.
- Recommend changes to customer payment terms and credit limits.
- Disposition orders placed on Batch Hold for assigned accounts.
- Discuss with Sales Manager and Sales Associates accounts with balances over 60 days or accounts approaching credit limits.
- Review and follow-up Network past due accounts.
- Disposition Network customer inquiries.
- Assist Credit Manager with the research, follow-up and set-up of new customer accounts.
- Assist Credit Manager in the month-end closing process.
