The Full Charge Bookkeeper will support the Finance team in preparing and providing monthly an annual financial information. They will be responsible for general accounting practices. Duties will include:

Assist with ongoing accounting activity, including monthly closings.
Prepare and enter monthly journal entries.
Assisting with accounts payable cycle.
Prepare and enter monthly cash receipts and wire transfers and assist with the revenue cycle including corporate membership, sponsorship, and unrestricted and restricted gifts and grants.
Assisting with analysis and reconciliation of expense reports.
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
Reconciliation of program activity for the organizations.
Prepare all monthly reports for capital projects.
Maintain all supporting capital projects documentation.
Processing expense reports for credit card holders.
Maintain detailed lease activity for the organizations operating and capital leases.
Track all programs – codes – revenue and expense - for all policy related programs.
Assist with annual year-end audit.
Assist and prepare various supporting schedules for annual tax return filings.
Support various projects given by Finance team ad hoc.
Support and respond to requests from other departments.

Requirements:

Minimum of 1 year experience in related accounting work as an accountant / full charge bookkeeper.
Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word). Familiarity with MIP Fund Accounting software a plus.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task in a small department and work independently.
Strong verbal, written and organizational skills.

Preferences:

Fluency in Spanish a plus.

Compensation; $65,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
