We are currently seeking a meticulous and tenacious Claims and Collections Specialist to join our dedicated Accounting team at our Brooklyn, NY headquarters. The Claims and Collections Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes, particularly in managing 3rd party marketplace reconciliation and claims processes to recoup lost funds. We are looking for a determined individual who has proven experience and success in their relentless work ethic.

Responsibilities:

Claims Management: Persistently handle the end-to-end process of 3rd party marketplace claims, prioritizing opening cases and recouping funds.
Maintain detailed records of all claims, including correspondence and outcomes.
Effectively communicate and collaborate across internal departments to resolve claim-related issues and expedite the recovery process.
Generate reports on claim status, recovery rates, and financial impact to management.
Analyze transaction data to detect patterns, anomalies, and opportunities for recovering funds.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the claims and reconciliation process.
Ensure all activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, and relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

1-3 years of experience in collections, accounting, or a similar role, preferably in an ecommerce environment.
Strong and clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Familiarity with claims processes and accounting software is a plus.
Tenacious, persistent, and assertive in following up on claims.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to follow-through on tasks and maintaining confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
