Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. This role involves managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the financial health of the organization through accurate reporting and strategic financial planning.

Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Conduct general ledger reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records.
Manage corporate accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.
Assist in governmental accounting processes as required, ensuring adherence to regulations.
Provide mentorship to junior staff members, fostering professional growth within the team.
Apply knowledge of wills, trusts, and estate law when necessary for client-related matters.
Perform financial analysis to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making.
Conduct financial audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Develop and manage budgets, monitoring expenditures against forecasts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting is preferred.
Strong skills in financial report interpretation and general ledger reconciliation are essential.
Familiarity with financial auditing practices and budgeting processes is advantageous.
Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to mentor junior staff effectively and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Knowledge of wills, trusts, estate law is a plus but not mandatory.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel is required.
