Property Accountant

Company Overview

We are a family-owned owner and operator of real estate in the United States. Centurion’s portfolio includes a wide array of properties, including retail shopping centers, high street retail assets, office buildings, and mixed-use assets.

Job Summary

We are looking for a junior accountant that is comfortable with being hands on. This role will have responsibilities that touch on accounting, property management, and certain office management tasks. This individual will be reporting to the Property Controller and Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate has a “can do” attitude, is able to work in a fast-paced environment and can interface with senior management.

Accounts Payable

Invoice and check processing (~300/month)
Correspond with vendors to reconcile open invoices as necessary
Maintain vendor records, including obtaining W-9s, W-8BENs, and W-8BEN-Es from new vendors and update records with tax status and tax ID
Prepare Form 1099s

Accounts Receivable

Daily processing of tenant receipts
Lease Administration- Abstracting, entry and filing of new leases
Prepare monthly tenant billings
Maintenance of AR Subledger
Communicating with tenants in arrears
Prepare/Assist with the RE Tax and CAM reconciliation

Accounting Responsibilities

Assist with bank reconciliations
Assist with preparation of monthly reports.
Special Projects as needed

Office Management Responsibilities

Order office supplies
Retrieve mail from PO Box
Handle/sort mail and send mail out as necessary

Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred with a major in accounting
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Yardi experience a plus
CPA a plus
Detail oriented and inquisitive

2+ years experience preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
